Announcements #061: New Courses at VBM

New and Ongoing Courses at the Virtual Beit Midrash

There are four new courses at the Virtual Beit Midrash:

  • Modern Rabbinic Thought (R. Yitzchak Blau) - First two shiurim: I, II
  • Reading Midrash Aggada (Frequent commenter Dr. Moshe Shoshan) - First two shiurim: I, II
  • Thirteen Divine Attributes (R. Ezra Bick) - First two shiurim: I, II
  • Sefer Tehillim (R. Elchanan Samet) - First two shiurim: I, II
I also want to highlight this course by my old classmate and friend: Laws of the Festivals (R. David Brofsky). The Rosh Hashanah series can be found here (I, II, III, IV, V). A new series on Chanukah will be beginning soon.

In addition, among the many ongoing courses, readers might take special interest in the series on Faith and the Holocaust (R. Tamir Granot). It covers a very wide range of Orthodox thinkers (R. Elchanan Wasserman, Satmar Rebbe, Em HaBanim Semecha, Rav Soloveitchik, R. Zvi Yehuda Kook, and more). For example, in the first year of the course, the course discussed with the Belzer Rebbe, the Klausenberger Rebbe and the Slonimer Rebbe, and this year it will address, among others, the Munkaczer Rebbe (Binat Nevonim), the Piaseczner Rebbe, and more. You can see the first 25 installments here: http://www.vbm-torah.org/shoah.html.

The third installment in each course will come out this week. Course descriptions and subscription info can be found here: http://www.vbm-torah.org/courses.htm
